By Solomon Amabo*
When the pen falls
The pen can best mourn.
With your pen you made them adjust
With your voice you made them seat up
BB , you leave us in the cold,
Untill we meet your fold.
You once told me
' they can kill me
but not my spirit'
Live on, live on !
BB,The Anglophone hope.
Few will take your risk...
'Obasinjom Worrior,'
Like a baobab
you send tremors
And 'Disgraced' us.
I can't hold my tears.
Forever. Forever
Oh our shakespeare, our Soyinka!
Only my pen can best mourn,
As I wail in Joy!
You ,the price of freedom.
Couldn't you wait for the end,
Of their champagne party?
As you make exit, your site remains our bible.
Greet Fonlon and Fela R. Kuti...
Untill we come
Adieu BB, Adieu BB
Solomon Amabo was BB's student in the deparment of English at the University of Buea, Cameroon, between 2000-2004.
May their souls rest in perfect peace in Abraham's bolsom.
I am worried: Can someone tell me what "DISGRACE" the recently launched book was/is all about? Was/is it about the recent socio-political events in Cameroon (UB Crises)? If so, did it make direct accusations/point fingers? I'm perplexed, help me sort myself out of this mystery!!!
